SUPPORT THE HIPPOS
KEEP THE BLOAT AFLOAT

WHY?
In September 2006 Elliot Cox, a lively 11 year old, was involved in a road traffic accident on his way home from school. He had just moved up to secondary school and was enjoying the first weeks at his new school. He was flown by air ambulance to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol but his injuries were too severe and tragically Elliot didn’t make it. He is very much missed by his immediate family, friends and the community in general.

HIPPOS - MISSION
Our aim is, as a group of fathers from Aylburton village, to celebrate the memory of Elliot Cox by raising enough money through a sponsored paddle of 100 miles to:
· build a memorial friendship garden at Aylburton primary school;
· support the Gloucestershire Air Ambulance;
· contribute to 1st Aylburton and Lydney Scout Group,
and, in doing so, develop a strong friendship among the fathers who were affected by the tragedy, and enhance our social life in the pursuit of communal aims and a shared concern for supporting the well-being of the parents and children in our village.
